Exploring Balmedie Country Park: A Family-Friendly Haven in Scotland
Nestled approximately 8 miles north of Aberdeen lies Balmedie Country Park, a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by nature enthusiasts and families seeking outdoor adventures located along the East coast of Scotland.
This coastal park offers a harmonious blend of beachfront tranquility, sprawling sand dunes, vibrant heathland, and enchanting wooded areas interconnected by winding paths and inviting boardwalks.
An Award Winning Beach
Balmedie beach has been honored with Visit Scotland’s prestigious Beach Award for its excellence. Feel the soft sand beneath your feet as you stroll along the shore, breathe in the fresh sea air, and marvel at the beauty of the North Sea stretching out before you.
A Natural Oasis for All Ages
Balmedie Country Park is a haven for visitors of all ages, providing a plethora of facilities to enhance your experience. From barbecue stands perfect for sizzling up a feast to convenient picnic tables ideal for enjoying a meal amidst nature’s embrace, the park caters to your every need. Waste bins are strategically placed throughout the park, encouraging visitors to maintain its pristine beauty.
Fun-Filled Activities for Everyone
For families with young adventurers, the park boasts a charming children’s play park equipped with an array of engaging equipment to keep little ones entertained for hours on end. Let your children’s imaginations run wild as they explore and play in this safe and inviting space.
Parking & The Entrance
Sadly this is not a place for motorhomes of almost any size due to the very strict restrictions placed on the entry into the park.
They are permanent so will not be removed on a weekend. I asked the park warden about these posts and it is because the park has been abused in the past, not by motorhomes or campervans, but by other means. So the posts are here to stay.
Who Can Get Into The Park
There is a solid metal post on one side that will put some nice marks on your paintwork, and a concrete bollard on the other that would be even worse.
